Ligna Energy is entering into a strategic collaboration with TrustSEC, a European leader in secure digital authentication and smartcard technology. At the core of this collaboration is a more sustainable smart access card. By combining TrustSEC’s proven expertise in secure digital identity with Ligna Energy’s bio-based energy storage innovation, we aim to enable secure access solutions that also meet modern environmental expectations.

Ligna Energy is proud to announce that our S-Power supercapacitors now come with a third-party verified carbon footprint. The verification was carried out in accordance with international EPD standards (EN 50693 and ISO 14025), based on a full Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).

We’re excited to share this new video from IpXchange, diving into how LIGNA’s ultra-thin supercapacitors are reshaping the future of flexible electronics. From smart cards with fingerprint sensors to medical patches and wearables, our sustainable energy storage solutions are opening up new possibilities—where traditional batteries and capacitors fall short.

Ligna becomes a supplier to OEM Electronics: Expanding sustainable solutions [...]

We're happy to share that we’ve partnered up with e-peas to further develop European-made ambient IoT solutions! By combining Ligna’s eco-friendly supercapacitors with e-peas' high-efficiency energy harvesting technology, we’re taking a big step toward making energy use in wireless electronics even more efficient and sustainable.

Endrich and its partners are showcasing a family of ultra-slim, advanced smart sensors that integrate into the E-IoT ecosystem. Developed through genuine pan-European collaboration, the E-zeroBatteryZone® sensors run entirely on energy harvesting—eliminating the need for batteries—and work seamlessly with both battery-powered devices and traditional IoT gateways. Key components include a low-power radio module from NeoCortec, an environmentally friendly supercapacitor from Ligna Energy, and indoor photovoltaic cells from Dracula Technologies.

In a recent interview with New Electronics, our Marketing Director, John Söderström, shared insights into our latest innovation—the S-Power 2R supercapacitor.

We’ve all seen them—those clunky, outdated indoor air quality sensors sitting on a shelf or mounted on a wall, their designs dictated by the bulk of a big battery. It makes you wonder: why are these essential devices stuck in the past? What if we could rethink their design completely, radically downsizing them to be smarter, sleeker, and more sustainable?

We're happy to share the "Sustainable Power Unit" which we've developed with Nexperia, Jiva & Epishine. Together, we are pioneering eco-friendly solutions that reduce environmental impact throughout the lifecycle of the product, while enabling innovative IoT applications.
