Meet LR20 and LR80: two new cells in the S-Power family
We’re expanding the S-Power family with two new ultra-slim supercapacitors, each developed for a specific need in compact, low-power electronics.
LR20: the only pouch supercapacitor in its class
Until now, there has been no single-cell pouch supercapacitor at 20 mF. The LR20 fills that gap. Its low capacitance means it charges quickly even from weak sources such as NFC fields, which makes it a natural fit for battery-free and harvesting-powered devices. Examples include smart cards and smart labels that need a fast energy buffer for a single transmission or measurement. At just 0.40 mm, it also ranks among the thinnest supercapacitors in the world.
LR80: built for peak loads in tight spaces
At just 0.45 mm thin, the LR80 delivers serious power where other components won’t fit. Its low ESR lets it handle the short, high-current bursts that radio transmissions, displays and sensors demand. That makes it a natural fit as a battery-support component, protecting small primary cells from voltage dips.
Both cells operate down to −40 °C, are PFAS-free and lithium-free, and are rated for more than 500,000 cycles.
