
Field tests with Taggr & Ramirent
We love seeing our technology tested where it matters most: out in the field. For some time now, our customer Taggr has been trialing an exciting new generation of its equipment sensor, pairing Epishine‘s solar cells with our supercapacitor in place of a conventional battery.
Taggr’s equipment sensors give construction machinery a voice. Attached to machines and gear, they track location and usage, flag maintenance needs early, help prevent theft, and automatically generate CO2 reporting, turning fleet data that used to be guesswork into real-time insight for more efficient, sustainable operations.
Removing the battery brings real advantages: a smaller carbon footprint, simpler shipping and end-of-life recycling, and the elimination of hazardous battery waste altogether.
The units are currently undergoing rigorous real-world testing, made possible by Taggr’s customer Ramirent, which is supplying suitable machines for the trial. The ambition is to bring a battery-free, highly sustainable sensor to environmentally conscious customers during 2027, enabling more sustainable IoT operations.
