Wooden batteries could be the energy storage of the future

Wood-based batteries made with a roll-to-roll format. In the Norrköping company Ligna Energy’s batteries, the metals have been replaced with organic materials. In the first step, the batteries will be used for sensors – but in the long run there is potential to build larger stationary energy storage.
